Dear Hearts
Thanksgiving day, the fourth Thursday of November for the US, (November 22 this year) is uniquely American. The legend is that it started way back when the original Pilgrims were trying to fit in with the natives who inhabited the continent they were trying to take over. I don’t know what really transpired; as with all truths, you will find as many different versions of it as you will find people who are willling to offer one. But I do know this, I am grateful for Thanksgiving Day, a day set aside for reflecting on what we have to be grateful for.
Some things to be thankful for: All the abundance provided by our generous Mother Earth; the air we breath, all the food and water we consume, an endless array of beauty, aromas, textures, healing herbs, days, nights, seasons, etc, etc, etc. We can be thankful for farmers and ranchers and the crops, herds, and flocks they raise. We can be thankful for the fishermen and their boats and crews. We can be grateful for truckers who deliver the goods, and the people stocking the shelves at the markets. We can be grateful for all of those who are working to improve the quality of life and the health of the environment all over the world. All of that and so much, much more! And that is before we have a look at all we have to be grateful for in our personal lives. Wow, what a great planet we live on. Life is good.
Also, Patricia and I want to take this opportunity to tell you how grateful and honored we are to know that you are a part of our extended family, Thank you.
Make it a joyful week,
Love and blessings,
Rick and Patricia
