The scene was a small roadside café the waitress was sweepin’ the floor two truck-drivers drinkin’ their coffee and two okie-kids by the door.
How much are them candies?” they asked her. How much have you got? she replied. We’ve only a penny between us. Them’s two for a penny, she lied.
|
And the daylight grew heavy with thunder and the smell of the rain on the wind ain’t it just like a human here comes that rainbow again.
|
One truck driver called to the waitress after the kids went outside, Them candies ain’t two for a penny! So what’s it to you? she replied.
In silence they finished their coffee got up and nodded goodbye. She called, Hey, you left to much money! So what’s it to you? they replied.

And the daylight grew heavy with thunder and the smell of the rain on the wind ain’t it just like a human here comes that rainbow again. |

Dear ,
With the muddy river of disheartening news we get from the media these days it is all too easy to miss the sparkling streams of heartful things that are springing up all around us. When I focus on discovering the joy and beauty that is inherent in every human heart it becomes apparent to me that there is far more good going on in the world than its opposite. Events like the one in Kris Kristofferson’s song lyric above are happening by the millions all over the world, but they mostly go unnoticed except for those directly involved.
Money, time and love are the only commodities we have for exchange. Money is a variable; some are rich, some are not, and everything in between. Time is a constant, we ALL have 24 hours a day; no more, no less. Love however, is in endless supply in each and every of us. All around the world millions of people with money are contributing large sums to worthy causes, we just don’t hear much about it. All around the world millions of people with extra time are contributing it to worthy causes, everything from environmental cleanup to care taking of other people, we just don’t hear much about it. All around the world billions upon billions of people are freely sharing their love with those who need it, and the supply never dries up. In fact, the giving of love only creates more of the same, we just don’t hear much about it.
Love creates more love, kindness creates more kindness. In the last stanza of Kristofferson’s song, the truck drivers noticed a kindness and responded in like.
Ain’t it just like a human, here comes that rainbow again.
Love and blessings,
Rick and Patricia
