When I was assisting and teaching at the intensives Louise Hay led in the late ‘80’s, the assistants each had a group of 10 people they were responsible for during the 10 days. We had extra meetings with the small groups and checked in daily with each member. One young woman in my group came to me crying about the 4th night and said, “I don’t think Louise likes me!” I asked her why and she replied, “I’ve seen her get excited to see other participants, but she just passed me in the hall and didn’t even acknowledge me!”
Since Jeannie (not here real name) was in my group, I knew about her childhood and that one of her issues was abandonment by mom. So here is Louise, certainly a loving, motherly figure, who walks down the hall and appears to be abandoning this woman by not saying hello to her. I said to Jeannie, “Tomorrow morning go up to Louise before the session and tell her you don’t think she likes you.” While she thought this was a very scary idea, she courageously did it. Louise immediately gave her a huge hug, and said, “Why is it the people I think look so nice think I don’t like them?”
Jeannie’s old perceptual pattern was interrupted because she was brave enough to confront it. Perhaps the pattern wasn’t completely cleared, but a new awareness of an unconscious abandonment pattern emerged and began healing. The Universe is always bringing these situations into to our lives for healing. Stay conscious!
